Starting from now on, I will share with you some daily expressions in English so that you could enrich your vocabularies. (Source: English/Indonesian Expressions: SPEAK UP  — by Eddy M. Yusuf S.)

  1. I was taken aback : Aku kaget banget/Aku terperanjat.
  2. What’s all about : Apa-apaan ini?
  3. Taht’s absurd : Aneh-aneh saja — Ada-ada saja — Wah, itu kan nggak bener.
  4. You’re being absurd: Kamu aneh-aneh saja.
  5. This is absurd: Ini kan nggak bener  — Ini kan nggak lucu.
  6. I have no savings account: aku gak punya rekening tabungan.
  7. It’s on my own account: Atas tanggunganku sendiri.
  8. It’s on her/his own account: Atas tanggungannya sendiri.(laki/perempuan)
  9. Put it into my account: Masukkan saja ke dalam rekeningku.
  10. She’s my aquaintance: Dia (perempuan) kenalan saya.
  11. Don’t be absurd: Kamu jangan suka aneh-aneh dong.
  12. They’re my acquaintance: Mereka kenalanku..
  13. It’s acting again: Ngadat lagi  — Mulai ngadat lagi nih.
  14. He’s acting up: Dia lagi ngadat.
  15. I am really affected: Aku merasa terharu
  16. Pay in advance: Bayar di muka.
  17. Thank you in advance: Sebelumnya saya ucapkan terima kasih.
  18. Is that all:: Cuma itu saja?  — Cuma segitu? — Cukup segitu saja?
  19. Along the way: Sepanjang perjalanan  — Selama dalam perjalanan.
  20. I’ll risk taking her anger: Aku siap dimarahi dia (olehnya).
